After all, she and Nate lead such different lives. Holly is about to find out that perhaps some of her fears are justified. The crowd in the stadium came to its feet , roaring its approval as Nate struck out yet another in a long string of batters. Holly removed her sunglasses and grinned back. Maddie was right, of course.

Start your review of Hardball Philadelphia Patriots, 2. This was a quick easy read. The story is about the meeting and forming of a relationship between baseball player Nate Carter and Dr.
Holly Bell. It was basically a good story but somtimes Holly's description of Nate was bit redundate. She was overwhelmed with how handsome he was and how great his body was to look at-it just was repetitive when the author used the same descriptive words.
There is even a little suspense This was a quick easy read. There is even a little suspense action involved with one of Dr. Holly's patient. This part was predictable. I don't feel it really added to the story other than a way to wrap the story up. Even though I enjoyed this book, I give it 3 stars for poor editing- the book was riddled with errors. There was enough to distract me from the story. Apr 27, Baba rated it it was ok Shelves: sports-romance. I'm a bit disappointed.
Hardball is definitely not as good as Hot Number. Aug 07, Jamie Kline rated it really liked it Shelves: books-for-review. Review: I confess, I don't usually read just straight romance books; I prefer paranormal romance or romantic suspense. This book sounded like such a fun read I couldn't turn it down. Plus, it actually does end up having some suspense elements to it that I wasn't expecting!
Also, did you SEE that book cover?! The only word that comes to mind is H-O-T! Nate was a really down-to-earth guy, despite the fact that he was a famous baseball player; not stuck up at all and not especially full of himself. Holly was a pedatric surgeon; I like that she was a successful, confident female lead.
She was completely independent and obviously very smart. There were times she annoyed me with her insecurities when it came to Nate, but at the same time I could totally understand where she was coming from. The story overall was interesting; in addition to finding herself smitten with Nate, Holly also has to deal with the beligerant and menacing parent of a sick child she is caring for.
That definitely adds a few tense moments, especially when she suspects that he doesn't have his son's best interests in mind. Also, the sex scenes were very steamy, but they didn't take up the whole book like sometimes happens with romances. The Bad - I felt like sometimes the dialogue mostly on Holly's part seemed a little awkward, where I found myself saying "Do people actually talk like that?
Then on their first "date", she turns into kind of a sex kitten. It didn't really jive with how I expected Holly to act in that situation. The Ugly - I don't have anything horrible to say in this case, it was a good read. Holly and Nate definitely had a connection from the beginning and as I said before, it made for some extremely hot and steamy sex scenes.
They were really good together, yet I felt like Holly moved way too fast in the relationship considering they hadn't been seeing each other very long. Maybe that's why I felt like I connected better with Nate in the long run.
Overall though they made a cute couple and had some great chemistry. It was still an enjoyable read though. Regardless, I did like the book. If you like hot male baseball players, steamy romance, and some suspense then this book is perfect for you!
If you would like to read more of my reviews, check out my book review blog, Bookerella Aug 04, Becky rated it really liked it. Holly Bell has worked hard all her life and is a very experienced Pediatric Cardiatic Surgeon in Philly.
Unfortunately she is not as experienced in relationships of the heart and intimicy. So when she meets Nate Carter, yummy, georgeous, masculine, star picture of the Philadephia Patriots, she is thrown for a loop.
Holly is one who likes organization, and has a map planned out for her career. Nate has a chance of playing in the big league and likes ALL the fun that comes with being a supersta Dr. Nate has a chance of playing in the big league and likes ALL the fun that comes with being a superstar athlete. I felt the beginning of this book was slow and the hot steamy sex became a bit tedious at times and took away from the development of the characters. Af first I didn't like either of the main characters, but watching them grow in their lives and relationship throughout the book changed my mind.
As highly educated yet insecure as Holly was in the beginning, I felt she rushed into a relationship too quickly. But towards the middle of this book, she showed just how strong and independent she could be. I laughed, loved and cried with her.
I loved how she made her stand known with Nate, and kept to her guns. I felt Nate came off in the beginning as a typical super jock with fast cars, money, prestige and a gift for the women. But again, I watched as he grew starting in the middle of the book. With all the steamy, hot, spicy romance between Holly and Nate, there is also the suspense with the question of Nate leaving for LA and a Holly having to deal with an angry, scarey and beligerant parent of a patient she is treating.
This became a wonderfully romantic and suspenseful book once you got into it. This is the second book of this series and I got it free on my Kindle. I really enjoyed this book and will read the other two. This is for adult reading as the sex is very detailed and there is "colorful" language.
There were alot of spelling errors which made me have to read some of the sentences over again. But it didn't take away from the story. Jun 30, April rated it it was amazing.
